City Patterns

One of the things that I love to do when taking pictures is to look for patterns in the city. Like patterned floors, roofs or tiled walls. It makes the place so unique! Some times you passe by it and don't even notice. So I intend to take many many pictures of these patterns in the future and show it to you here on the blog along with my outfits.
This one was taken on the Funchal's City Hall on one of it's walls, it's an original Portuguese tile panel. I love the colors and the pattern it's very fresh and so summer-esque.
After the photo shoot we had coffee on one of my favourite places here in Funchal, Café do Museu... Very trendy! I very nice afternoon with my dear friend Petra and part of the blog crew also :)

Uma das coisas que mais gosto quando tiro fotos é procurar padrões na cidade. Padrões no chão, nos telhados ou paredes revestidas de azulejos. Faz com que cada sitio seja verdadeiramente único! Muitas vezes passamos por estes padrões e nem reparamos. Por isso, pretendo tirar muitas, muitas fotos destes padrões e mostrar-vos aqui no blog, juntamente com os meus outfits.
Estas fotos foram tiradas numa das paredes da Câmara Municipal do Funchal, é um painel original de azulejo Português. Adoro as cores e o padrão é muito fresco e veranesco.
Depois da sessão fomos até um dos meus sítios preferidos aqui no Funchal, o Café do Museu... Muito trendy! Uma tarde bem passada com a minha querida amiga Petra e colaboradora do blog :)

Happy 4th of July! (with Red Velvet Brownies)

Happy 4th of July everyone!
As I already shown on a previous post I really love America and it's culture! I admire how patriotic they are, I wish we had that same passion for the country here in Portugal... For those who don't know the 4th of July is a very important Holiday in the US, it's the Independence Day and they celebrate it with their flags, fireworks, typical food and so on. Me and my friends decided to celebrate the 4th of July with a delicious piece of red velvet brownies with cheese cream and a lemonade from Mercearia Dona Mecia, a traditional shop that only sells home made cakes and only Portuguese products! As for the cake, it was very much red and very much American but really delicious!
By the way, hope you like the outfit... It's almost matching with the cake :)

Feliz 4 de Julho!
Como disse num post anterior, adoro a América e a sua cultura! Admiro os americanos pelo seu patriotismo, gostava que tivéssemos a mesma paixão pelo país aqui em Portugal... Para aqueles que não conhecem, o 4 de Julho é um feriado importantes nos Estados Unidos, é o Dia da Independência e é celebrado com bandeiras, fogos de artificio, comida tradicional e por aí fora. Eu e alguns amigos decidimos celebrar o 4 de Julho com uma deliciosa fatia de red velvet brownie com queijo creme e uma limonada, da Mercearia Dona Mécia, que adoro pois só vende bolinhos caseiros e produtos Portugueses! Quanto ao bolo, era muito vermelho e muito Americano, mas verdadeiramente delicioso!
A propósito, espero que gostem também do outfit... Foi quase a condizer com o bolo :)

Sailor Paintings

First of all let me say I'm sorry that I didn't post anything in the last few days. But the wait is over and hope that this time I do it more regularly (fingers crossed)!
So today I wanted to do a post to make up for all the waiting so I thought on a different place to take my photos... As I said on a previous post, I love Street Art so I decided to go to the Funchal Marine because there are some great wall paintings made by sailors. I don't know what is about that but I just love it, the colors and how some paintings are missing some bits of paint. I love what represents it to me which is travel and sea, two things that I couldn't live without.
Regarding to fashion, I choose some vibrant colors to contrast with the paintings, I took my new platforms that I bought on Zara... Oh! And about the clutch I think that it's always nice to go with a different pattern when you have a color blocking outfit, don't you think?! :)

Antes de mais queria pedir desculpa por não ter publicado nada nos últimos dias. Mas a espera acabou, e espero que desta vez consiga publicar com mais regularidade (fazendo figas)!
Hoje queria fazer um post para compensar toda a espera, por isso pensei num lugar diferente para tirar as fotos... Como disse num post anterior, adoro Street Art. Então, fui até à Marina do Funchal, porque lá podemos encontrar pinturas feitas por marinheiros, nas paredes. Não sei porquê mas simplesmente adoro as pinturas, as cores, e gosto particularmente dos "pedacinhos" de tinta que faltam nas pinturas. Adoro o que estas pinturas representam, o mar e as viagens, duas coisas sem as quais não conseguiria viver.
No que toca à moda, escolhi cores vibrantes para contrastar com as pinturas, levei também as minhas novas sandálias que comprei na Zara... Ah! E a cerca da clutch, acho que é sempre interessante escolher um padrão diferente quando temos um outfit em color blocking, não acham?! :)

Tropical Trousers

From time to time me and my friends like to go to a park, just to relax or do silly things. Honestly I don't remember the last time we've been to one... Anyway yesterday was a hot summer day so once we couldn't make it to the beach we decided to go to a park and just be there for a while.

Has I promised on my last post, and inspired by it, I decided to put on my tropical pattern trousers that I bought from Zara about a month ago and do an almost perfect summer outfit - almost because the right outfit for this heat is a bikini of course :) I decided , as I sugested on my last post to put on my big statement earrings from Asos, they are so big but I love them!

De tempos a tempos, eu e alguns amigos gostamos de ir até ao parque, para relaxar ou fazer coisas tontas. Sinceramente, não me lembro da última vez que fomos a um... Ontem estava um dia de Verão autêntico, e como não podíamos ir à praia decidimos ir até ao parque.

Como prometido no meu último post, e inspirando-me nele, decidi levar as minhas calças com padrão tropical que comprei na Zara, e compor um outfit de Verão quase perfeito - quase, porque o outfit perfeito seria um bikini, com o calor que estava :) Decidi também, como havia sugerido, levar os brincos novos que comprei na Asos, são enormes, mas adoro-os!

Summer Patterns

Which is the girl who doesn't like flowers?! Everyone likes flowers even if it's for their colors. I love flowers! I specially like them in my clothes or in a hair accessory. The flower pattern or tropical pattern are those kind of patterns you want to have on your Summer closet. I have a few pieces myself. The thing about these patterns is that gives you a wilder or tropical look, it really is the Summer pattern. And you don't even need to worry about accessorize the outfit too much because the flowers do the work for you. I usually put on a big pair of earrings and that's all. Try it, I'm sure that you'll rock the outfit!
I hope to put as many outfits as I can manage here on the blog with my summer pattern clothes during all summer, that's a promise!


Qual a rapariga que não gosta de flores?! Todas gostam de flores, nem que seja pelas cores. Eu adoro! Gosto especialmente delas nas minhas roupas, ou num acessório para o cabelo. Os padrões florais ou tropicais são aqueles tipos de padrões que são obrigatórios no guarda roupa de Verão. Eu própria, tenho algumas peças. O que estes padrões tem de especial, na minha opinião, é que dão um look mais "selvagem" ou tropical. É realmente o padrão de Verão! E nem têm que se preocupar muito com os acessórios, porque as flores fazem o trabalho por si só. Eu geralmente ponho um belo de um par de brincos e pronto. Experimentem, tenho a certeza que vão gostar!

Street Art

 

The old part of the town is one of my favourites. This part was a little bit forgotten till a couple years ago a hotel nearby decided to call some local artists to paint some of the streets doors. The trend spread and it's kinda cool, some of the doors are actually form private houses, others from restaurants and other are from abandoned houses. I went to take some pictures of my favourite doors. I just love Street Art and this one is pretty amazing! I decided to take my new bag that I bought from a local designer and I believe it was a good choice because it matched very well with the street art. Don't you think?! I love the colors as well as the design of the bags and they are unique, the brand is called Malonas and you can find here many other models.

A parte mais antiga da cidade é uma das minhas preferidas. Este local estava completamente esquecido até há uns anos atrás quando um hotel das redondesas decidiu convidar alguns artistas locais para pintar algumas portas das ruas. A moda pegou e as portas ficaram mesmo giras, algumas das portas são de casas privadas, algumas de restaurantes e outras de casas abandonadas. Fui tirar fotos a algumas das portas que mais gosto. Uma das coisas que mais gosto é Street Art e a do Funchal é fantástica! Decidi levar a minha nova mala que comprei a um designer local e acho que a escolha foi boa, para condizer com os sítios onde tirei as fotos. Não acham?! Adoro as cores, assim como o desenho das malas, e ainda por cima, são únicas. A marca chama-se Malonas e podem encontrar aqui muitos outros modelos.

"If I can make it there, I'm gonna make it anywhere..."

I have a thing for fashion magazines for obvious reasons, but I love love love travel magazines as well. Not only because I love to travel (wish I do it more often), but mostly because it takes me to places that I've never been and makes me dream of it. So, one of those places is New York City of course! It's a city that fascinates me since I remember, I was 8 years old when my grandparents went there and I remember they brought me so many gifts and candies so different and delicious, but above all what caught my eyes was their story about the city and trip and the photographs they took, I immediately feel in love with NYC for the first time. The second time that I feel in love with the city was when I start watching religiously The Sex And The City again and again and again (I just love the gal's and of course Carrie). For these reasons and many others I always say to my friends (and they think I'm nuts) despite never been there I know NYC like the back of my hand, but it's true I really feel I know it (now you think I'm nuts)...
Me and my friends are planning a big trip to the US, starting in NYC of course, but only in two years so we can save enough money to do things properly and enjoy the best of it! So I started my savings today with my little golden pig moneybox. New York City here I comeeeee... :) Sooner if not later!


Eu tenho uma queda para revistas de moda, por razões óbvias, mas simplesmente adoro as revistas de viagens. Não apenas porque adoro viajar (e gostava de o fazer com maior frequência), mas também porque estas revistas levam-me a sítios que nunca fui e fazem-me sonhar. Portanto, um desses sítios é a Nova Iorque, claro! É uma cidade que fascina-me desde que me lembro, tinha eu 8 anos de idade quando os meus avós lá foram e lembro-me perfeitamente que trouxeram-me imensas prendas e doces diferentes e deliciosos, mas acima de tudo, o que me chamou mais a atenção foram as suas histórias sobre a cidade e a viagem e as fotografias que tiraram, apaixonei-me imediatamente por Nova Iorque pela primeira vez. A segunda vez que me apaixonei foi quando comecei a ver religiosamente a série Sexo e a Cidade, uma vez e outra vez, e outra vez (adoro as raparigas e claro a Carrie). Por estas razões e muitas outras, digo sempre aos meus amigos (e eles acham que não sou  boa da cabeça) que conheço Nova Iorque como a palma da minha mão, mas é verdade, eu realmente sinto que conheço (e agora vocês é que acham que não sou boa da cabeça)...
Eu e os meus amigos estamos a organizar uma grande viagem aos Estados Unidos, começando, claro, por Nova Iorque, mas só daqui a dois anos para que possamos todos poupar, e fazer uma viagem como deve de ser, aproveitando tudo ao máximo! Então lá comecei eu hoje as minhas poupanças, com o meu mealheiro de porquinho dourado. Nova Iorque, aqui vou euuuuu... :) Mais cedo, ou mais tarde!
